The Global Financing Facility (GFF) was a project coordinated by Health Promotion Tanzania (HDT) and its target was to achieve—The National Road Map Strategic Plan to Improve Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, and Child & Adolescent Health in Tanzania (2016-2020).
Himiza Social Justice supported the GFF with data collection and disaggregating data at the sub-national level, verifying reported results, connecting data to action when implementation was off track, engaging communities in accountability and decision making processes, monitoring and assessing implementation of the Investment Case and providing an independent assessment of progress in Geita Region, Tanzania.
SUCCESS: The project was able to raise the accountability in the health sector and the data reported were able to help raise awareness on the transparency of public expenditure in the health sector.
